Yeah, I had to turn fast forward it because I was a bit worried for his life. You can actually see the prez start to process what he’s saying and see his expression just change throughout the evening. It’s fantastic. Utterly brilliant.

Who loves Stephen? I do! I miss the days when he and Steve Carrell used to do their debates on the daily show, but to have two whole shows to watch them on is intensly gratifying. I had to watch his speech through the crack in my fingers while covering my eyes. I’m glad somebody had balls at that dinner!

When I told my husband that I learned about it from Stitchy Mcyarnpants, he was a little scornful…I mean, a knitting blog…but just yesterday he was repeating your line about Colbert retiring to a remote village in Cuba and said, “who said that?” “well, my dear, it was Stitchy Mcyarnpants.” Yes, he has been dining out on you for the past two days!

The DH and I are huge Daily Show/Colbert Report geeks, and haven’t missed an episode of either (thank you Tivo). We made plans on Sat. night to be back home to watch CSPAN to see Stephen’s speech, and were not dissappointed. (How lame are we? “YAY, I like to warch CSPAN on Saturday nights!”) He should win best quote of the year for the whole “deck chairs on the Hindenberg” think…very subtle!
