Don’t feel too bad… I twisted my stitches for 3 years before my mom pointed out that they looked funny (she’s a non-knitter, so this was incredibly traumatic)

I’m hoping you can help me. I have blogger for my blog, and I’ve just signed on with Bloglines. My feed won’t show on there, they only show my bloglines blog, which I never wanted. How did you get your blogger site to be the feed for bloglines?

do you remember my ghetto-g scarf post? (o wait, it might have been before you visited me…september ish) ANyway, it’s this fun wavy scarf I came up with made with many yos (2, 3, 4, 3,2)…a gal posted it on her blog, and had questions from her readers about yo’ing. She explained this crazy nutty way of yoing that thoroughly confused me and made me think “nuh-uh!” But she finished the scarf, and it looked right, despite the (to me) faulty yos! …craziness!

Those yarn overs are deceptively difficult, no? It sounds easy, but yet so many beginners seem to have a problem with them. I definitely did (Do), and there are other bloggers out there complaining of the same thing. Maybe we should start a support group?

I successfully did yarnovers wrong for 75.5 projects. When I corrected myself mid-shawl… well the s**t really hit the fan then. I’ve learned to notice which one I am doing and stick to it… Oh, and to do a swatch of the pattern to see just what happens.

For gosh sake, don’t, repeat, don’t put any of your errant yarn-overs any where near other knitting, because there is evidence that it is contagious. It’s a good thing that you identified it and isolated it when you did, but the last thing we need now is for it to get into the yarn-stream. Were that to happen, lace EVERYWHERE would be in danger!
You’re a good knitblogsphere citizen to have acted so quickly. Good work.

It looks like Doofus McKnitter has been visiting Stitchy’s house. Last time I saw her she we fully enscounced in my livingroom count stitches incorrectly. She sure does get around, doesn’t she?

Oh dear, did you succumb to the “yarn over plus a stitch” confusion? If you did, you are in good company. It seems that a yarn over is just so simple, it’s difficult, and it’s really difficult to describe in a book. I wish you the best with the lace, once you’ve got it, you’ve got it!
